Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction or a psychiatric disorder on its own is difficult. Struggling with both a substance abuse problem and a co-occurring psychiatric disorder at the same time can make it almost impossible to manage your everyday life.

Effective treatment for a dual diagnosis will simultaneously address both your substance abuse disorder and psychiatric disorder. Not all treatment centers have the resources needed to treat a drug or alcohol addiction along with co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or an eating disorder. Clearview Treatment has the resources needed to provide effective treatment for your dual diagnosis.

Clearview Treatment Programs in Southern California can help you with your dual diagnosis, end your dependency on drugs or alcohol, and help get your life back on track. We offer multiple levels of care in the Los Angeles area, including residential dual diagnosis treatment, a day treatment program, an outpatient treatment center, and transitional sober living, so that you can get the individualized treatment that will give you the best chance for long-term recovery.

How We Can Help Treat Your Dual Diagnosis

Clearview Treatment Programs was founded more than 10 years ago as a dual diagnosis treatment center, and is nationally recognized as a leader in dual diagnosis treatment. Our integrated approach to dual diagnosis and co-occurring disorders will help you to address and resolve the underlying causes of your substance abuse while successfully treating your depression, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, trauma, or eating disorder, so that you can sustain a long-term recovery.

Treatment throughout all of our programs involves individual and group therapy, and includes the following:

  • One to two individual psychotherapy sessions with Ph.D. and master’s-level therapists who are trained in dual diagnosis treatment.
  • Daily 12-step meeting attendance in the community, as well as a 12-step study group.
  • Relapse prevention group to help you identify your triggers and learn techniques for preventing substance abuse relapse.
  • Psychoeducation group to help you understand the relationship between psychiatric disorders, such as depression and trauma, and your substance abuse.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you change your negative thoughts and beliefs regarding your addiction and mental health issues.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Somatic Experiencing (SE) therapies to help you strengthen your sense of self and work through past traumatic events.
  • Trauma, grief, and loss group to help manage the symptoms of abuse and PTSD and prevent a drug or alcohol relapse.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you regain emotional stability and improve impulse control.
  • Process groups that will allow you to identify your present emotional state and learn to better express yourself.
  • Eating disorder group, as needed, to help you gain control over your eating disorder behaviors.

Upon admission, you will receive a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation by a psychiatrist trained in dual diagnosis to determine if any medications are necessary. Your Clearview therapist will conduct a thorough psychosocial assessment and design an individualized treatment plan to address your specific dual diagnosis symptoms.

Our holistic approach to dual diagnosis treatment includes yoga, exercise, and healthy nutrition to treat the body as well as the mind. Other services include therapeutic massage and acupuncture. Our unique location in California, 1 mile from the Pacific Ocean, allows you to take advantage of the Los Angeles weather by going on calming beach walks and other outdoor recreation.
