Law & Ethics Workshop: Legal and Ethical Issues in the Practice of Supervision
Course Description: Supervisors must navigate being in a mentoring relationship, teaching clinical skills, regulatory laws and, often times, employment laws and relationships. This workshop covers the regulations for new and existing supervisors. If you are considering becoming a supervisor or just interested in learning the legal and ethical requirement that supervisors need to navigate, this workshop will address your questions and concerns.
Learning Objectives: Participants will
- Identify the three best practice guidelines for initiating a supervisory relationship.
- Identify the five steps of Ethical Decision Making in a supervisory relationship.
- Critique four components of a supervisory informed consent document.
- Interpret four ethical principles for supervisory relationships.
Use this workshop to fulfill the mandatory 6-CEU Legal/Ethical Education Requirement or the current mandatory 6-CEU Supervisor’s Requirement
