What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and What Does it Treat?
Clearview Treatment Programs’ Community Education series is for family members, providers, and those seeking help. This series will serve to help people better understand the mental health disorders that our clients struggle with and how we use evidence-based therapies in our treatment programs.
This session we’ll provide an overview of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). DBT is considered the gold standard for treating the behaviors and symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder and emotional dysregulation. It is also useful in addressing many other mental health concerns, including substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, and emotional dysregulation.
This educational talk will be led by experienced DBT therapists at Clearview Treatment Programs and will describe what DBT is and what makes it so effective. Case examples will be provided to illustrate the uses of DBT and discuss some of the mental health issues that DBT treats. You will also have an opportunity to ask the leaders questions.
Free to attend. Registration required. This is an in-person event in Venice, CA.
*Street parking only
